*Cobi: Small Army – SU-85**
The SU-85 was a Soviet self-propelled gun used during World War II. Its construction was based on the chassis of the T-34 medium tank. Soviet self-propelled guns were meant to serve either as assault guns or as tank destroyers – The SU-85 fell into the latter category. The designation ‘85’ signifies the vehicle’s armament – anti-aircraft gun, the 85mm D-5S gun, characterized by a high rate of fire.
The SU-85 was mainly used to eliminate the newest types of German tanks.
The block model from COBI has a cannon that moves up and down and an operable
trapdoor at the front and on the top of the vehicle. At the back there is an
operable bonnet.
