It features an armoured vehicle made by Chevrolet for the United States Army and later on, adopted by the British. It first saw operational service in Italy and was widely used by the Allies during WWII to deploy troops anywhere in the combat zone.
It was also present during the battle of Normandy where deployed among the English and Canadian Armies.
After World War II many Staghounds were distributed among smaller NATO countries in Europe and to the Middle East.
Some of them were used until the 1980s in Lebanon.
