Just a warning to some of you out there, this is not an action movie. Nor is it particularly a thriller. It is a drama. Although, it has an realistic action / thriller sequence as an ending.
The bulk of this movie is set in a cab. Max (Foxx) talking with Vincent (Cruise). What makes this movie so special is that these characters develop and change. Max is a perfectionist / dreamer that just lacks the motivation to spin his life around. Vincent is a ruthless assassin who thinks he knows the answers to all of life's questions.
Throughout the night, Vincent finds all of Max's flaws and throws them back in his face. Max even begins to use Vincent's sayings against him. Tip: Don't turn a cab driver suicidal.
The ending is great. It finishes the way all thrillers should, with a chase or race of some sort. But I'm not going to give it away completely.
Finally, this product is the special edition with extras. They're interesting but I don't really think there is enough of them. The other version has the director's commentary. Keep that in mind when choosing which version.
