"Great cooler, pain to put on though"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This cooler is great, keeps my CPU nice and cool. But it's tricky to put on and there are two types of screws (one for AMD and one for Intel sockets) and it took me 10 minutes to work out which one was which because the diagrams aren't the most detailed. But I got there in the end.

"Good, but pain to install."

I like this cooler and it does what it says on the box. My only problem is the installation process. Getting the back guide plate into place and making sure the heatsink cross locking is the right way around was a pain. Also if you are using a motherboard with ram slots close to the cpu, make sure to put the fan on after you lock the heatsink into place. Other then that, this is a really good cooler, keeping my cpu (i7) at about 25–30 on idle and 35–40 degrees under stress.

Description

New Smart Engine and 4th Generation Bearing Fan, 4 X-shaped vents surrounding a Heatpipe All-In-One Mounting!

The CoolerMaster Hyper 212X introduces several new features to the incredibly popular 212 series. It uses the same Patented Quad CDC Heatpipe array but features a completely new cooling fan and an improved fin-blade layout. Thanks to the new Smart Engine and 4th Generation Bearing, the MTBF has been pushed up to an incredible 160,000 hours while reducing bearing noise. The redesigned Fan-Blades and Aluminium Fin-Blades have both been optimised to create micro vortices that boost the airflow and circulate it around the heatpipes.
