I ordered this wonderful story for my older brother, a true Neil Gaiman fan, and found myself reading it before wrapping it!

Funny, adorable, scary and above all fun to read, Coraline is a story for both young and old! What would you do if you discovered a door leading to another world where everything is perfect? Would you stay? Coraline thinks it's a good idea at first…

Need I say more? It's gripping and charming, a perfect blend of fairy tale and nightmare!

Description

When Coraline moves with her parents to a new house she is fascinated by the fact that their 'house' is in fact only half a house! Divided into flats years before, there is a brick wall behind a door where once there was a corridor and one day it is corridor again, down which the intrepid Coarline wanders. And so a nightmare-ish mystery begins that takes Coraline into the arms of counterfeit parents and a life that isn't quite right. Can Coraline get out? Can she find her real parents? Will life ever be the same again?

Reviews

"Sometimes funny, always creepy, genuinely moving, this marvellous spine-chiller will appeal to readers from nine to ninety." - "Books for Keeps". "I was looking forward to "Coraline", and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I was enthralled. This is a marvellously strange and scary book." - Philip Pullman, "Guardian". "If any writer can get the guys to read about the girls, it should be Neil Gaiman. His new novel "Coraline" is a dreamlike adventure. For all its gripping nightmare imagery, this is actually a conventional fairy story with a moral." - "Daily Telegraph".
