Corgi: 1/76 Crossley DD42 – Stockport

Stockport operated a fleet of around one-hundred and sixty buses which were mainly Leylands and a post-war fleet of sixty-five Crossleys. This was largely due to the various Crossley companies lobbying the Stockport Council to support local industry, which intensified when Crossley Motors moved from Gorton, Manchester, to the Crossley site in Crossley Road, Stockport in 1947. Numbers 207 and 225–244 were the DD42/3 models with Crossley bodies and Manchester-style dipped windows; while the others (205–264 and 309–332) were DD42/5 and their Crossley bodies had the more usual straight window line.

The 16 service was operated jointly with Manchester Corporation and ran from Chorlton through to Didsbury, Heaton Mersey to Stockport and then via Dialstone Lane to its terminus on Buxton Road, Stepping Hill.
