I got this book for my mum and we sat down and went through it together. It's lavished with photos right the way through and a wide variety of recipes. The book has a fold book-mark type of flap at the front and rear – ideal for marking your place. On the left page is the recipe and a full page photo on the right. I'm a fussy eater but I struggled to find anything I wouldn't like from this book. This is a beautifully presented quality “paperback” book of A4 size with decent thickness pages. Mum marked 4 recipes she wanted to bake right while we were looking through. Excellent value for money and bought “sight-unseen” with no regrets what-so-ever. All the recipes are provided by families throughout New Zealand, with a bit of background and photos from the people who contributed to the book. If you're into your baking, this book is a stunner, and what I would say is a “must have.” Best price I could find too!

Author Biography:

Allyson Gofton has been cooking for New Zealanders for nearly 30 years. She is known for her recipes and columns in magazines, her television appearances, radio slots and many personal appearances in the name of charity. She has also written more than 20 cookbooks, including her best-selling series of books Bake, Cook and Slow, as well as the popular Country Calendar Cookbook with Allyson Gofton and her 2013 bestseller Good Food Made Simple. Allyson has recently returned from a small town in the south-west of France, where she, her two young children and her husband enjoyed a year of French living.
