This desktop switch offers an economical way for homes and SOHO to benefit from the increased bandwidth of Gigabit Ethernet. It provides 8 auto-sensing Fast Ethernet ports, plus 2 Gigabit port for fast server deployment to meet increasing network load. With plug-and-play installation and copper Gigabit port capable of connecting to your existing Cat. 5 twisted-pair cable, this device instantly enhances your workgroup’s performance without requiring you to install expensive fiber cables or go through complex re-configuration.

The switch comes with 8 Fast Ethernet ports. Supporting auto-sensing 10/100Mbps speeds and full/half duplex autonegotiable, these ports connect to power workstations and print servers, giving each a dedicated bandwidth. Alternatively, these ports can be used to segment your network into smaller groups inter-connected through Fast Ethernet hubs, enabling better performance of multimedia and imaging applications over the network.

The Gigabit ports provide an inexpensive alternative solution to fiber-optic. Using your existing low-cost Cat. 5 copper twisted-pair wires as the transmission media, these ports allow you to instantly upgrade your servers to Gigabit capability without requiring you to install new, expensive fiber cables.

The Gigabit ports provide dedicated bandwidths for your servers running at 2000Mbps full-duplex. This gives workstations a bottleneck-free path to simultaneously access server data.

This allows servers to directly connect to the switch for fast, reliable data transfer. At 2000Mbps full duplex, the switch provides high-speed data pipes to your servers with minimum data transfer loss.

Auto MDI/MDIX eliminates the need for cross over cables or uplink ports. Any port can plug to a server, a workstation, a router or another switch, using the usual straight-through twisted-pair cable.
