"EXTREMLY HARD GAME BUT VERY FUN" Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game will have you wanting to throw your controller at the wall but thats kind of why we all come back to this game. You risk dying but if you survive, you get rewarded with useful items. This game will make you SO F$&KING HAPPY when you complete this game. Its a real challenge.

"Hard as a truck"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game is tuff. I would recommend it if you feel games are too easy these days. Like a scorned lover you will keep coming back for more, only to have your ass handed to you on a plate. Highly recommended if you are into that sort of thing, or have a below average level of self respect.

"Worth your time"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The game offers you countless hours or challenging gameplay. As you progress through the game you encounter many different enimies making for a game less boring. However, you will die and die again. So if you like to test your gaming skills not to mention your patience then this is the game for you.

"Superficial, repetitive, gruelling, tedious."
1 stars"

To even call this a role playing game is really stretching the definition of an RPG, and giving the game way too much credit. Ok, there is no single definition of an RPG, but nearly all the elements that you would expect to find in one, such as quests, a story, skills and NPC interaction are either practically non existent or completely so. The ONLY thing that makes this an RPG by any stretch of the imagination is you collect points (or souls) when you kill enemies and raise your attributes, such as vitality and strength ect. And that’s it. This is a third person action game, and a very simple, superficial one at that. All you do is fight your way through various areas killing monsters. That’s it. That’s the entire game. You don’t even have a journal. What sort of RPG doesn’t have a journal-

Certain elements are done quite well, such as the combat, but it just gets so boring. And it’s so repetitive. Every time you get killed, which is a lot, you return to the last spawn point you used and all the monsters respawn. So you end up doing the same thing over and over, killing the same monsters over and over.

The game is notoriously difficult, and it’s supposed to be, that’s not the problem. It’s the fact that you can’t save and all the monsters respawn when you die that makes this such a boring and gruelling experience.

There is something I really like about it though, and that is you have very limited means to heal yourself. And unlike nearly every other RPG I could name from the last few years your health doesn’t auto regenerate. Hallelujah! And what is even more cool is when you take a swig of your health potion your character animates the action, which takes a couple of seconds and leaves you vulnerable to attack. So you can’t spam health potions, and you don’t pause the game when you take them. I LOVE this, and I wish more games were like that.

That alone can’t save the game though. They should pay us to play it, not the other way around. It’s about as much fun as a root canal.

"Hard is the understatement of the century"
1 stars"

I had read and had been warned this game was hard, very hard in fact… I tried it anyway… Saying this game is very hard has to be the understatement of the century… it is utterly ludicrously difficult for average or weekend-warrior type game players… So, unless there is some certain knack to playing this game, you have lightening fast game-reflexes and play other games every non-working hour at a difficulty level of “insane”, this game is most probably going to be an exercise in frustration and futility :(

I couldn't rate the game higher than 1 * because I didn't get to play it! And no one I knew could either so that I might at least witness the glory vicariously.

"A game that challenges your face"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

If hard work, patience, planning, and contained skirmishes are not for you. Then you need to plod along. This game isn't as horrifyingly challenging as people give credit for veteran gamers. However, if you're a casual gamer. You'll be horrified as this game smashes the little hope you had at seeing the closing cutscene into your face. This is some good old school difficulty mixed with some fun combat and some decent graphics. Fight, strive, die, reload, and a GG for all.

"Great"

A proper challenge. One of the few games of late that has any real difficulty to it. It's certainly something to hate, but it's great because of it. Once you finally get something done you know you've earnt it.
