It's an interesting game but the ending could do with a lot more work. It took me around 25 hours finish it the first time I played it and while there is a lot of places to explore the problem is they are basically all the same when you get down to it.

Still overall a nice game with the great graphics, easy to understand controls, and ease of how quickly you can get into the game.

There aren't any major bug, just a few minor bugs most of which are fixed in the latest patch. There are a lot worse choices you could make when buying a game. Try the demo though to see how you like it.

A fan of games like Privateer and Freelancer I was looking forward to enjoying Dark Star One, especially after reading rave reviews.

However, this is truly the worst game I've ever purchased.

My MS Force Feedback joy stick provided very poor flight simulation and the enemy were almost impossible to keep in my sights. Configuring the buttons and switches was a monumental task with most functions not working properly. The DSO web site said they have had joystick complaints and have issued a patch with promises of more fixes to come however when I decided to buy a MS Xbox 360 for PC controller this equally sucked. I finally resolved to try using a mouse for in-flight game play but this was useless also.

This game promises depth of experience unseen before but no matter how sexy graphics get I conclude by saying DSO delivers game play worse than when I first played Privateer back in 1995 and I would not even pass this game onto a friend’s son for him to play. This game is now landfill.

Game looks Ok but it crashes constantly, often it wont even load. Should have seen the warnings when there is a patch released 6 days after it hit the shelves.
