Following up on my earlier review, the keyboard died after a few weeks. If anyone tries to give you a free Das Keyboard product, that person is not your friend.
The keyboard itself is lovely and I'm enjoying it. The software available from the manufacturer to customise the keyboard lighting is pure rubbish. Support for this model is Windows-only, and I didn't have much luck getting it to work even then. I've started writing my own software to control the keyboard lighting. I'll release it as open source if it gets to a usable state.
The dasKeyboard Q software is terrible. If you make a custom lighting configuration, the volume control no longer lights up, before the software loads, the keyboard leaves green ghosting, so at the login screen your key strokes stay lit up, giving away your password. The software randomly causes key strokes to hold down, so far it's only happened to me about 10× in about 2 weeks of use; when the computer shuts down, about 1/5 of the keys stay lit up, however from reading the support forums, other people are having a lot more issues than I am. Almost annoying enough to return the keyboard, but not quite. Wouldn't buy anything from dasKeyboard again, it seems people are having a lot more issues with the 5Q and 4Q keyboards.
