OECD 2012 Economic Survey of Denmark examines recent economic developments, policies and prospects and looks in particular at consolidating public finances and improving energy and climate change policies. The OECD has set out a number of assessments and recommendations, including: that the ongoing global economic slowdown clouds Denmark's economic prospects; that the downslide crisis make it even more important to lift potential growth and that also more could be done to foster competition in some sectors. The various financial system vulnerabilities need to be addressed with better controlling of public expenditure helping to ease the tax pressure. Further, that the fiscal framework needs to be reinforced, both at the central and sub-central levels. Denmark should look to raise the efficiency of social expenditures, particularly towards green growth: improving energy and climate change policies.
