So, you're a 900 year old Time Lord, and you run into Cybermen – that's bad. You run into Daleks – that's worse. Get them both together – what can you do?
This DVD sees the end of Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) as a companion (until 3 episodes in season 4). The last 2 episodes form a 2-parter that really capped David Tennant's first full year in the role, and was a fitting send-off for Rose. One of the parts I love is where the Daleks and Cybermen stand there insulting each other, it's great for a laugh.
However, many would say that the one down side to this DVD is the first episode, “Fear Her” – largely viewed by fans of the show as the worst episode of the current 4 seasons. Personally, I think it's better than all three that preceeded it (series 2, volume 4).
Overall it sets the scene for several references made in future seasons, and is well worth 4/5.
