Okay, I'll admit it. At age 5, the Fendahleen slithering down the hall scarred me for life. Now I can't even look at a giant green soul-devouring alien slug without thinking of the Fendahleen.
This story is one of the very best of the fourth Doctor series. K9 is conveniently left out and so dealing with the Fendahl creature is much more basic but credible. The tense atmosphere and acting is very satisfying. The Fendahl creature is well made and to good effect.
Not one of the strongest stories of the season – but worth seeing just for what tom baker does for some pretty incoherent writing
