Description

Computer vision system has become an important automation application for non-destructive visual inspection technology in the past five decades. Adopting computer vision system in industries can effectively reduce operating costs and increase product value and quality. Several non-destructive image approaches have been proposed to grade the agricultural products automatically. However, they make use of RGB and HSI colour spaces for digital colour image processing that suffer from several drawbacks such as device dependence and non-linear perception. This book, therefore, provides a new colour classification algorithm associated with the fundamental device independent CIE colour spaces. The algorithm is implemented and applied on agricultural products for automated visual inspection. The developed algorithm is especially useful to agricultural industries, or any other industries that are implementing automated colour inspection.
