Downton Abbey - Season Two reviews

Wonderful show. Very impressed with the price from Mighty Ape and the speedy delivery. Thank you! This show is a must-have for anyone who enjoys good drama with a bit of comedy as well. All the actors are marvellous.

Gripping, brilliant series, couldn't stop watching until it was finished. Superbly cast and acted by all.

I bought this for mum, she seemed to love it so why not.

A fabulous window on life during the First World War as it affected society particularly the class divide. With an emergent change in rules and expectations, life would never be the same again. Maggie Smith stole the show for me. I couldn't wait for her one-liners! The costumes, furnishings and attention to detail for the period were wonderful. I was bereft when it finished!

Impressed with speedy delivery. Havent watched 2nd series yet but if its as good as the first I will love it.

The 2nd season is great. Different to the first but still with that wonderful feel that makes Downton Abbey must watch tv.

Having watched the first series, I felt the second was even more dramatic and inspiring.

Season 2 of what has been a brilliant series so far did not disappoint. The combination of interplay between fascinating, believable and finely written characters along with the production's ob­session with accuracy and detail, leads to a true feast for the viewer. I was completely caught up in the story which has enough pace and pause to hold your attention. I have no doubt “Downton Abbey” will be a true classic. Bring on Season 3!!!

Hard to stop watching the trials and tribulations of this upper class british family along with thier servants and staff. Along with the sorrow of the great war years comes the warmth created buy the blending of the classes caused buy the horror of war.

Considering how wonderful I found the first series, I was thoroughly excited to view the second series, especially since they would be tackling the tumultuous period of the Second World War.

I was again not let down and found myself engrossed in this magical world once more where history seems present. This drama does its characters very well. Despite the long list of cast members, I have no difficulty following the storylines simply because every single character is so memorable and I can track along their lives without a problem.

The sequel quenched my desire to see more of the characters and their storylines and I was satisfied with the arrival of new characters which proved to be organic and a satisfying development to the storylines.

The format of the second series is very similar to the first. One difference I found was the selection of episodes. Whereas the first DVD allowed me to choose scenes from each episode, this DVD kept things simpler and only allows you to select which episode you wish to view. It doesn't make any real difference to me, but I understand it could prove to be a little annoying to some people who might have to leave the episode mid-way.

All in all, very well done!

Kept the wife busy for days and got to play Skyrim. Couldn't be better.

A brilliantly crafted series that chronicles the changing post-war society through an English ‘noble’ family. The intricate plot plays out beautifully and keeps you wanting more.

I enjoyed season two of Downton Abbey. While not as good as season one its still a good view. Some of the story lines initially are rushed through but and a couple are slightly weak but it is still one of best shows on television.

The final two episodes are amazing.

Well worth the money to watch it all over again. It is amazing how many things can be noticed the second time that are missed at the first time the programme is viewed.

Thought Season 2 was much better than Season 1! Put it on late one night while wrapping Christmas presents and had to keep watching more episodes. Can't wait for Season 3!!

Both Seasons one and two of Downton Abbey are simply a do not miss! If you used to enjoy ‘Upstairs and Downstairs’ you will love this series. Brilliant actors, wonderful dialogue and very fast moving. I cannot wait for Season 3
