Eden
This tender tale of a specialist chef whose culinary skills are so profound that they provoke an almost sexual response in his diners. Striking up a friendship with a pretty young waitress named Eden, the cheerily corpulent gourmand begins to design a series of dishes that will transform her life.
Eden, a married woman, falls under the spell of the Cucina Erotica created by Gregor. Their platonic gourmet meetings jolt both Eden and Gregor out of their humdrum everyday lives; Eden's marriage blossoms as a result. But they live in a small town in which nothing remains secret for long, and after Edens husband Xaver experiences the “erotic cuisine” for himself, he is forced to take action or else lose his wife.
Critic Reviews:
- " As long as it's whimsically celebrating the ambiguous joys of cooking, writer-director Michael Hofmann's movie has charm and a sweetness verging on the tart. " – John Hart
- " An over-filled smorgasbord of sweet intentions. " – Wally Hammond
- " A succulent yet chaste love story which leaves a pleasant enough taste, but you might not be inclined to tip. " – Film4 Staff
