Description

Buildings represent sites of both enormous energy usage but also offer equally enormous opportunities for energy savings. This book presents a wide-ranging discussion on efficiency, air quality and conservation of energy in buildings. Current applications of temperature predicting models for buildings are discussed, including their association with thermal comfort, heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) control systems, and energy savings. Owing to the global energy crisis, energy conservation through energy efficient buildings has acquired prime importance. This book deals with various renewable energy technologies that can be integrated with building. Since low income housing is often designed primarily to minimise costs without consideration of operating costs, ways to integrate energy conservation in this setting are also presented.
