PAUL V. ADAMS is Professor of History at Shippensburg University, PA. ERICK LANGER is Professor of History at Georgetown University. LILY HWA is Assistant Professor of History at the University of St. Thoma" LILY HWA is Assistant Professor of History at the University of St. Thomas. PETER N. STEARNS is Heinz Professor of History and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. He is the auth" Peter N. Stearns is Provost and University Professor at George Mason University. Since 1967, he has served as editor-in-chief of The Journal of Social History. His numerous books include World History in Documents; American Behavioral History; and Anxious Parents. MERRY E. WIESNER-HANKS is Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the author of the award-winning Women and Gender in Early Modern Europe, Working Women in Renaissance Germany, and Gender, Church, and State in Early Modern Germany.
