It is my constant endeavor to place myself, in imagination, in the Situation of the slaves; and tons I never fail to plead earnestly.we must meditate much, to feel and act properly. The danger is not, i think, that we shall suffer our thoughts to dwell too much upon the cruel slave-system, but that our ardor may expire with the novelty of the subject.
