Author Biography

Ben Morgan is a freelance editor and writer who has contributed to more than 50 books and magazines on science and natural history. After graduating in biology from the University of Oxford, he became an assistant editor of the Royal Society's Science and Public Affairs magazine before entering into freelance work. He works regularly on the BBC's flagship natural history titles and was a senior editor with the team that produced the DK Guide to Space and the DK Guide to Weather, which both won the Junior Science Book Prize in their respective years. He is also the author of the DK Revealed title Human Body.Douglas Palmer is a science author who has written several books on earth science and was a major contributor to DK's Earth. He spent more than 20 years as a geology lecturer at the University of Dublin, and his research has taken him as far as China. He still lectures for the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education.
