"Pleasantly surprised-very enjoyable"
4 stars"

I'm an oblivion lover, and haven't quite gotten over the fact that nothing has come close to being as good since-and its been a few years since I played it. I was really disappointed with Two Worlds so pretty skeptical about Fable when it came out. But I got it and was pleasantly surprised. It is cartoony, but that's part of its charm. There is lots to do and I think it is a good length too. My young son and I had lots of fun working out which were the best weapons for what and how to get upgrades. Being called a ‘chicken chaser’ for half the game before I worked out how to change that was a little irritating. I also like that this game highly re-playable. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game goes when I choose to be evil!

"I'm finding it boring."
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

A big part of whether or not you'll like this game is it's unique look. It has a very stylised, cartoony look that I really don't like but a lot of people probably do. So that put me off for a start.

In addition I dislike the how NPCs all glow either green, purple or red. Red if they're hostile, green if they have something important to say to you and purple if they're just passers by. You don't need this at all because the green ones correspond to green dots on your map, and you can probably tell a monster or bandit just by looking at it, right?

There are a few innovations that I found interesting for a bit, like getting hair cuts and tattoos, and the “renoun” feature. And you can get married and have sex which I'm sure you will get all excited about but they're all really just gimmicks.

There's respawn too. Every time you go through certain areas all the monsters have respawned, and I don't think that's ever a good thing.

The environmental graphics are nice, and it has it's own atmosphere. I just hate how everything looks so goofy. Including what monsters I've seen so far, with the exception of the werewolf.

At the end of the day though I'm just finding it boring. That might be because I just hate everything about it, I dunno.

I'll do you a favour and tell you that for some reason you can't save your game until after you've graduated from the guild. I don't know why that is or why they didn't think to mention it in the manual.
