As the entire story is not yet compete with this remake/re-imagining it’s hard to hold it against the original which still stands as my personal favourite of all time. The game does a great job fleshing out more of the world and further developing the characters. Most of the voice acting is on point. Combat is brilliantly modernised and the game just looks incredible. The nostalgia is there, and it successfully captures the soul of the original thus far. It feels fresh with some new additions to the story so it doesn’t feel as if you’re just retreading an enhanced copy of the original (which I would’ve been more than okay with as well). Time will tell if this approach tracks well with the next few instalments. I just hope that the scale will match the original and that corners aren’t cut moving forward.

Been playing for days it's amazing
When this game arrived, My childhood came flashing back to me. The game has two disc and I love that fact! Final Fanatsy was all about them disc man! The gameplay is just incredible and I will take my sweet time with this game! 10/10 What are you waiting for! Just buy it already!
Love this game and it looks stunning on the PS4 Pro.
The start of the game is AMAZING with really great graphics and details. But when you get to sector 7 and wake up in the day time the graphics becomes so shit you wander if they've even bother to QA the game. Texture in sector 7, where you spend a lot of the “tutorial” and “starting adventure” of the game just made me turn off the game.
The way they have remade the game is great, there is so much more of the story now that has been added and the updated fighting is great too.
This remake had mostly stayed faithful to the original FFVII, while changing just enough to keep those that had played it, on their toes. Square Enix also added more depth to their beloved characters through the beautiful animations and the superb voice acting, emphasising realistic expressions and emotions. They've also delved more into character's backgrounds and settings, building upon the expansive lore of FFVII. Unfortunately, like all games it'll have errors. In this case, it's some of the textures that appear at low resolutions. Otherwise, this remake of Final Fantasy VII is a great start towards replicating the acclaim the original had received.
The original FF7 is one of my favourite games of all time so I was worried they wouldn’t do it justice…but Square Enix absolutely smashed it with this. It honours and expands on the original and updates the gameplay while still keeping the core feel alive. I could not stop grinning while playing it, a definite contender for game of the year.
Really good game, though if you played the original it does feel like alot of filler has been thrown in, still recommended though. Da da da daaa da da da da daaaaaaa!
A long wait for everything I expected and more!
Awesome re make love it
Perfect Final Fantasy game, it captures the original and at the same time giving you something new. Perfect game for people who played the original and for those who haven't.
Played the original ff7 a few weeks prior to starting ff7 remake its a really fun game, sad that it is split into multiple discs. I definitely recommend it everyone the coasters and add on are really nice too
Such an amazing game. If you love Final Fantasy then I highly recommend this game
Great for players of the original and those new to the game. Great world and character building on top of the original and the graphic are amazing. Game mechanics are smooth and battle system is fluid
Really outstandingly beautiful game, all the old weapons and monsters have been lovingly recreated to the last detail. Some monsters that you might have thought were too weird for HD are now promoted to bosses and it works brilliantly. I would not recommend this to people who haven't played the original because of the confusing way that a major villain has been introduced and handled this time around.
