Description

It's autumn in Green Mountain Town and the children are afraid to go outside and play. Last year on Halloween, Frankenstein showed up in town and frightened everyone away from their trick-and-treats. This year, the kids insist they will just stay home and say NO to candy. Except Suzy. Suzy likes candy too much to not go trick-or-treating, so she hatches a plan with her cousin Victor to save the fall season and Halloween. Finding Frankenstein provides a number of "teachable moments" on the topics of bullying, fear, leadership and courage. In addition, the book incorporates a history of Halloween and trick-or-treating, and the unmasking of the "real" Frankenstein. Finding Frankenstein is the second book in Liz Bockelman's American Holiday Series. Liz tells stories that illustrate faith, morals, and ethics through plot, character, setting, and conflict development.

Author Biography:

Elizabeth (Liz) Bockelman was born in 1955, in the small town of Rochelle, Illinois. She earned a BFA from the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. Liz began a graphic design career in 1977 and started her own agency, Graphocity, in 2001. She redirected Graphocity to a publishing company for both books and fine art in 2017. Liz has always loved to write and tell stories to entertain family and friends, especially ones that illustrate a particular idea or moral. She has now added 'author' to her list of hats, which includes daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mom, grandmother and friend, as well as designer, photographer, artist, and songwriter. I like nothing better than to solve a problem. I hope that I can use the entertainment of the written story to tease, challenge and offer some problem-solving ideas to my readers - and maybe they will send their ideas back to me, says Liz.
