Cheryl Ann Knights sold her optometry practices in 2014 to pursue her passion for writing books. She is the author of The Cooper Chronicles and is currently enjoying writing the sequel The Cooper Chronicles 2: The Inhabitors. Mrs Mavis Marshmallow and the Colour Yellow is the first book in a series of books Cheryl has written aimed at teaching young children about colours in a manner they would enjoy. When Cheryl is not writing you can find her sailing out on the bay on her boat or at her favourite place: the beach. The sunny Gold Coast is where she resides with her husband and two dogs. Her two grown up children and four grandchildren also live nearby. She adores animals and has become an animal activist. Cheryl always loves to hear from her readers. Leigh immigrated to Australia shortly after completing high school in Cape Town, South Africa. She studied Fine Arts in Sydney but it was her love of creating expressive, engaging characters that informed her career choice to become an illustrator. After working for many years as a commercial illustrator Leigh made her first foray into children’s picture books with her first title, Marty’s Nut Free Party in 2012 with author Katrina Roe. Subsequent titles include Emily Eases her Wheezes - a Notable book in the 2015 CBCA awards, Gemma Gets the Jitters (both with author Katrina Roe), When I See Grandma (author Debra Tidball), the Ruby Wishfingers series (author Deborah Kelly) and Camp Max (author Penny Reeve). Leigh is delighted to be partnering with Cheryl Ann Knights in bringing her whimsical and colourful characters to life.
