I began writing stories as a teenager. I was always a very shy child but I was also an avid reader. I've read many books with different themes, depending on my obsession at the time. Books like The Black Stallion, The Changeover, Black Beauty; classics like The Count of Monte Cristo. When I was in high school, my teacher introduced me to the world of poetry and asked the class to write poems. At thirteen years old I discovered my calling. My teacher continued to encourage me to develop this gift and I have been writing ever since. It wasn't unusual to see me around school during my lunch break scribbling in a book. I had a pile of notebooks filled with story ideas. I have earned two university degrees, despite personal struggles. I studied a Bachelor of Arts at Massey University in English and history, which allowed me to explore my love for history and drama, as well as literature. I also studied a Bachelor of Communications, majoring in journalism which also helped me in my writing. ​ I spent a few years working as a journalist but I am sad to say I am not currently working in that field. ​ Not long after I left journalism behind, I began writing fan fiction. These are stories based on tv series revolving around the characters. Sometimes that meant inserting an original character in the story but most of the time for me it was exploring alternate storylines. The writing helped me deal with a very rough period in my life and also introduced me to a new world online where I met some amazing people. ​ Thanks to the friends I made, I was encouraged to complete and self-publish my first novel. That was completed in 2014. I now write in my spare time while holding down full-time jobs. ​ I grew up in a small city in the lower half of the North Island of New Zealand. I have spent about two-thirds of my life (so far) living in this city but I have also lived in Auckland and Hamilton. I'm very much a homebody.
