Description

The cover and title assume two things, firstly that the author has had a cancer experience and secondly that the book is positive and somewhat humorous in nature. Both analogies are correct. Then we see that the author puts the word "Adventurer" after his name. Those three simple observations sum up this book. Sean Boru's autobiography is rich in texture, the texture of life and all the events (adventures) that he has experienced. From his birth in 1953 to early 2004, Sean takes us on a roller coaster ride around the globe, from emigrating at five from his native Ireland, to travelling later in life to the Seychelles, Africa, Madagascar, Norway and Holland, where he worked and lived. He has experienced drug addiction, divorce, a shooting, making and losing two fortunes, being imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, two bankruptcies and a kidnapping in the Comoro Islands. The book reads like a novel, but the great stories are all true, they are funny, yet often dramatic and are backed up with wonderful photos. As the chapters unfold we get to know the real Sean Boru; Sean holds no bar,to all his pluses and minuses, he reveals his vulnerability and his strengths, his humour and his serious side. All these adventures, as he calls them, helped him at the age of 46 to battle Lymphoma cancer, not once but three times in four years, he then got Diabetes from the treatment and beat that as well. He is awaiting a Stem Cell transplant, an immune system boost, as the book goes to print in March 2004. Sean is full of positive charged energy. He hopes the reader will learn from it, how to achieve their dreams and overcome any adversity. Whilst being treated for cancer, Sean changed his lifestyle, and in five years he has not only overcome bad health, but is now an accomplished actor with many stars as friends and he has worked with some of the top A-list stars on some of the best known films. The book is full of adventure, positive thoughts, humour and hope. As the text on the cover says "A remarkable true story of an extraordinary life", from which we can all learn.

Author Biography:

Sean Boru is an actor, presenter and all-round live entertainer. Sean has had a number of "Resting" jobs while getting ahead in the entertainment business. He originally trained to be an Engineer and is college educated. In recent years he has been a promoter of products and services at exhibitions around the UK. He has also become an accomplished Historian and tour guide in London, as well as a live comedy performer. He often lectures on the subject of English and London history, as well as teaching tour guiding in the English capital. Sean is currently writing a book about history, which no doubt will be humorous. He lives with wife Lesley and their family of 5 children in the wilds of North Essex in the UK. They have six grandchildren. One daughter, Emma, lives in Tenerife with grandson Rhys, no doubt Emma has her Dad's sense of adventure. Sean now writes, acts, performs live, presents and does P.R. work for a living. He can be found each year at the Cannes Film Festival, where he goes to network. He has appeared in many UK television programs and films. He has friends all over the world and spends some of the year at his favourite pastime: travelling. He loves to visit his native Ireland and America where he has many friends. Sean lives each day to the full; he believes in the old saying, "Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery and Today is a Gift, that's why we call it the Present".
