This game has proved it's worth, the games more expansive then the previous iteration boasting more cars, more activities and an experience to drive on Britain's roads!

"The 4K details are amazing"

Pre-ordered this and got it first thing in the morning on the day of launch. The game itself took a long time to download the updated content etc. but once I got to play FH4 I was blown away but the incredible detail and beauty of EVERYTHING in 4K. The cars are realistic, and all of the cool villages and buildings are amazing… so much to see. I'm looking forward to exploring this entire new world.

"Racing Game Of The Year"

Ive played every Forza since the second week the original game came out and this is the best Horizon game yet only second to motosport 4. Plenty of stuff to do in story mode, you wont be completing this in a couple of days. Of course the game lacks 2 major japaneses manufacturers but its easy enough to get past that. Definitely recommend 5/5

"One step forward, two steps back"

Forza horizon 4 is a technical masterpiece, it is well optimized, looks great, has a great selection of cars, and launches as a complete game before the DLC, something other publishers seem to forget over the years. Forzathon is much more fleshed out now and gives daily, weekly, and even hourly challenges. The seasons system is groundbreaking, and truly alters the game and the way it plays giving a lot of replayability and stopping the map from getting stale too quickly. After saying this, why am I not as impressed as many others with it-

Well unfortunately Forza Horizon 4 suffers from a lot of bad or questionable design choices. For starters the game has too much bloat: the cosmetic items take up too much of the prize slots of the wheelspins (basically lootboxes), and for the first 20–30 hours of the game I got next to no actual useful rewards from it, instead gaining only clothing, dances (which in my opinion has no place in a racing game to begin with), and random car horns.

A lot of what was just available in the base game in FH3 is now locked behind purchases (with in game credits thankfully) but it seems only to serve a drawn out progression system. Because houses have replaced all but one festival site, you now have to spend huge amounts of credits to open up new home bases, and to unlock perks, most of which, again was in the base game in FH3, this not only damages the way the game progresses, but because you no longer unlock festival sites there is nothing between each showcase, and you unlock them all far too early in the game. Speaking of showcases (for those who don't know, showcases are the main events and the big payoff for your hard work in Horizon, it's sort of like those wacky races that top gear used to think of), FH4 has the weakest set of showcases in the entire franchise, the only truly original one the game has is recycled from the intro, and all of the showcases were shown in trailers and video clips by gaming websites pre-release so there was nothing left for the game to surprise you with.

The game is so multiplayer focused it feels like single player was an afterthought, the AI tend to constantly bump into you and often spin you out. The game also doesn't do a very good job of explaining certain parts, for example, there are a lot of places in the map you need to get to that can only be accessed after doing certain events, or in certain seasons.

Despite its numerous flaws, I don't hate FH4, it's still better than the vast majority of its competition, I simply did not enjoy it as much as I did with Forza Horizon 3, a game I consider a masterpiece, something very difficult for a sequel to live up to. If it's your first Horizon game, you'll love it, there's a lot of good going for it and not a bad game by any means.

"Most jaw-dropping driving experience ever!"

From the first title sequence to the breathtaking graphics and jaw-dropping gorgeousness of this remarkably expansive ‘four-season’ world. It'll be hard to keep the saliva from dripping out of your gaping wide-open mouth as you'll truly blown away by the attention to detail throughout the game, even the finer things like the way the snow, leaves, sand or water move around the wheels as they pass over them. This game demands your attention, buckle up and take it all in!
