In 2008, Tom Waits launched a sold-out national tour in the U.S, garnering intense critical praise. Paste Magazine called it “…the best live show of 2008.” – thrilling fans across the country and around the world.
Now comes an audio document of those concerts, containing 17 performances hand-picked by Waits from the tour. Leaning heavily on songs from his more recent ANTI- releases, including a haunting “Trampled Rose” from ‘Real Gone’ and a roaring “Get Behind The Mule” from ‘Mule Variations’. Waits also digs into the vaults for tracks like a re-imagined “Singapore” from 1985’s ‘Rain Dogs’.
‘Glitter And Doom Live’ will reside in the Waits catalogue alongside earlier live albums like ‘Nighthawks at the Diner’ and ‘Big Time’, with both discs easily on par with his classic studio releases.
Disc 2 of ‘Glitter And Doom Live’ features ‘Tom Tales’, which compiles between-song banter from the tour into a continuous monologue, chronicling for the first time ever what many fans consider their favourite parts of a Waits’ show.
