Description

Saved from the hangman, for a fate worse than death! In Jack Nicholson's second directorial effort, he stars as a downtrodden outlaw who nearly has his neck in a noose before he finds a loophole that lets him evade the gallows by slipping a wedding ring on a lonely spinster (Mary Steenburgen). Not much for working, he is then forced to work on her farm as he dreams of escaping to Mexico. This good hearted, bawdy western comedy was not only the screen debut for Steenburgen but also for John Belushi.
