Golden Legends: Bob Marley
Bob Marley was a hero figure, in the classic mythological sense. His departure from this planet came at a point when his vision of One World, One Love – inspired by his belief in Rastafari – was beginning to be heard and felt. The last Bob Marley and the Wailers tour in 1980 attracted the largest audiences at that time for any musical act in Europe.
Golden Legends: Bob Marley Review
Sometimes it seems like there are more Bob Marley collections than there are drops of water in the sea, most of them recycling the same pre-Island Records Jamaican tracks in countless different configurations. This one mixes in sides produced by Lee “Scratch” Perry (“Kaya,” “Soul Rebel”) with some Leslie Kong tracks (“Stop the Train,” which is actually a Peter Tosh number), and some Wailers self-productions (“How Many Times”), and while what's here sounds fine, even great, nothing about this collection distinguishes it from dozens of other sets just like it.
