Having not watched Gomer Pyle since the 60s, I thought that my fond memories of this series may only be from a child's perspective and that the programs would not stand up to being viewed through adult eyes. This is not so. The stories are good and it is still very funny. Frank Sutton as Sgt. Carter is a fine actor, something not appreciated by me as a child. It was also fun seeing supporting actors such as Tommy Leonetti (Sydney tonight show host in the early 80s), Larry Hovis (later in Hogan's Heroes) and Don Rickles (did he ever have hair-).
