With her widower father currently living it up in Paris with a young, new girlfriend, Lilian (Grace Van Patten, Under The Silver Lake) has been placed into the care of family friends over in Brooklyn, New York. Under the roof of famed author, Julia Price (Emily Mortimer – Hugo, Shutter Island), Lilian has no real motivation to live any other lifestyle than that of her hermit housemate. To impress her ex-boyfriend, and the other cynics around her, Lilian suddenly decides to make a documentary on Julia – albeit, an unauthorised one – with the help of some new people in her life.
Critic Reviews:
- " Wells's coolly indirect way with dialogue prevents the movie becoming insufferable in the way that it might have done in other hands. It is like a short story that insouciantly signs off before you've quite decided what it means. " – Guardian
- " Yes, it's another tale of agonised yet essentially comfortable creatives living in nice houses, but one that's elevated by canny writing and layered performances. " – Times (UK)
- " Good Posture doesn't break any new ground, but the performances in the movie are so watchable, that it's an entertaining ride from beginning to end. " – Carla Hay (Culture Mix)
