Gran Turismo 4 (Platinum) reviews

This game is what you can get as a driving simulator at its best. Some people are not used to the game because its hard to corner. Well it depends on many factors such as: suspension settings, drivetrain, housepower, breaking, tires, curve angle, driving line, weight transfer, weight. Most people use cars such as Mitsubishi Evolutions, Nissan Skyline GTR's and Subaru Impreza WRX's. Well those cars have 4 wheel drive as their drivetrain so it understeers allot. Well guess what this is a simulator not a arcade type racing game. The reason there is no car damage is that the car manufactures don't grant permission to Polyphony Digital. The reason that you can't corner at 50 is because you did not change the display, on default its on Mph and you are used to the Kmph so you change it. Well after I done that I can get a 80 kmph plus on the 60 degree corners. It depends on how you break and when to floor it. The driving also changes when you turn off all driving aids. Let's see you get gold on all licenses. Burnout is a pointless driving game designed for little kids. you just smash into other cars.

One of the best driving games out there if realistic simultaion is what you're after. If you're a driving purist, it is perfection. If you want something easy and ‘arcadey’ then this isn't what you're looking for.

I absolutley love the Gran Turismo series even though I only have GT3 and GT4, But GT4 is better than the others, 700 cars on offer including Le-mans cars, Formula 1, JGTC, and other brilliant cars, I first played it in 2005 and was amazed, only annoying things are, no in car camera, no Spa Francorchamps circuit and if you accidently reset the game when saving you lose all data and have to start from scratch.

But shove those away, each car is done brilliantly, and track, still no damage but who needs damage – I mean, who wants to damage a Pagani Zonda or Ford GT – GT4 drives great, the opponents are better than before, And the races, oh they are stunning, these are just a few real races in the game:

Le- mans 24 hours (which actually goes 24 hours) Nurburgring 24 h Formula 1

This game is a joke. It has a lot of cars but driving them in the game is nowhere near as what it's like in reality. They have made it much MUCH harder than what it's supposed to be.

A corner that can be taken easily at 100 Ks in reality is an absolute pain to take at even 50 Ks in the game. No matter how hard you turn, the car just wants to go straight off track and into the barrier. When you do manage to get the car to turn, it tends to oversteer, drift and spin. Can you imagine drifting in a front-wheel drive car doing only 50 Ks? Well guess what…it's possible in this game!!!!

My first review for gpstore.

From the moment I started playing it I knew the steering system would be a problem for me.

It's very hard to turn a corner when it shouldn't be.

Yes, the game is beautiful to look at and it has 100's of different make's and model's of cars.

Including 4 different model's of Toyota Celica's.

But unfortunately that all Gran turismo 4 has to it's name (the different models of cars).

The car's don't even get damaged when you crash.

This game is definitley for driving stimulator fans.

Other gamers should look to the “Burnout” series on PS2 if you want fun driving games.

This game is amazing and I am saying this now in 2010 its graphics are amazing even tho I ma used to ps3 the handeling is amazing and its definatly the dominating driving game out there gt5 will dominate even more then this game did
