Gran Turismo 5 previews

The Gran Turismo series has been around for many years now, and it seems there have been vast improvements between every new title, and GT5 is no exception. GT5 prologue was a major disappointment but luckily the full game is said to have a new physics engine. GT5 has over 950 confirmed cars, over 20 course locations with 70 layouts confirmed. and two player split screen. I have the prolouge and the graphics are out of this world. Mix in the damage engine they including in the final game and over 950 cars this is a recipe for motorsport perfection!!!

good things come to those who wait, and any game that has taken this long to make has allot of promise, the amount of new content that goes into it daily is astonishing and practically every car you can think of would be in there. not to mention how jaw droppingly photo realistic it is, if you ever wanted to play a true racing sim and sick of immitations, sell your dog,donate some organs and give in to temptation

Gran Turismo 5 is expected to have 1000 cars, 20 locations and 70 variations, The game's creator, Kazunori Yamauchi has said that the game may contain a custom track designer, Dynamic weather changes, a rewind feature and finally, after 5 games (including Gran Turismo PSP), damage.

I also know a few cars which will almost definitely be in the game. The game should be excellent as it is a Gran Turismo game.

Probably the most anticipated game ever to be released on the PS3 is Gran Turismo 5. Given the amount of times they've pushed back the release date (currently in November 2010) the pressure will be well and truly on the developers to deliver on the hype and even exceed it. I believe that GT5 will at least meet the expectations of the patient and eager public, if not well and truly exceed their expectations.

The game looks awesome. I'm not sure how they'll beat it. And combined with the PS3's ability to do game updates, and add additional content, I'm not sure they'll need to try and beat it.

Shame the November 2nd release date has been pushed back yet again :-( They say it'll still come this season though.

I am looking forward to the release of GT5. They have promised us that it'll be released in 2010 and have pushed the release date back further and further. I hope this means they're trying to make sure the game's absolute perfection and I hope this is the case. It would be awesome if the rumoured track creator is included in the game.

E3's been and gone and the only thing I really cared about was Sony finally have a “solid” release date for GT5…November 2nd. No more “estimations” November 2nd is the North American release date, so hopefully we get it soon after that. I wonder if Mighty Ape can upgrade my pre-order to the Collector's Edition that comes with a Skyline GTR model?

From my years of experience with Gran Turismo games, this one is set to be a mindblower that redefines digital racing.

Amazing photorealistic looking graphics, beautifully rendered interiors and bodies and a HUGE variety of cars all of which are accurately rendered and customisable. No other racing game comes even close to this quality – The producers of Gran Turismo are beyond devoted to realism and accuracy – Every car is rendered so perfectly because they have actually used the car as a model.

The variety is going to be incredible and the track selection is going to be enourmous. Every car racing event will apparently be packed into this and at $100 this is a steal. Now you can own your dream car!

This doesn't deserve to be called a racing game. It's a racing simulator!

Grand trurismo ha salways kept poeple addicted with its very long races and cups, this franchise is the front runner of all racing games. Deffinately will buy.

Gran Turismo 5 will have a 3D mode and combined with face recognition from the Playstation EYE camera you will be able to turn your head as you sit on the couch, and your in-car view will follow where your looking.

This games release has been pushed forward to the end of November due to the publisher fine tuning some details. It will be well worth the wait as this game has been 5 years + in the making and should revolutionise racing games. This will be the most epic racing game ever

From the Official Playstation Blog: We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches. We'll have more information for you in the near future, but said that it will be coming this “holiday season.”

SCEA tells Kotaku that the delay is indeed global adding that they can't elaborate on whether “holiday season” could mean early 2011. When asked for specifics about the cause of the delay they only said that “Polyphony is optimizing ever aspect to provide the best racing experience.”

While SCEA won't confirm a 2010 release, the Europe arm of Sony Computer Entertainment says the game will be out by Christmas.

It's looking more likely that the release of this game will now be further pushed to late December, the reason give for this is not clear other than the fact that the creator Kazunori Yamauchi is not fully happy with the ultimate driving sim and is assuring that its worth the wait.. Alot of people are become sceptical of this claim and are now worried that it will not meet expectations due to its claims and long wait. I on the other hand think its far from failing to meet those claims from what I have seen. Its worth the wait, we have waited since 2005 we can wait an extra month. Hang in there! :)

I will rate thisgame before it even comes out uhmm wat can I give it from wat ive seen and I know a game thatscoast 60million dollars to make has to be at least a 9/10 they have made the game even better in graphics and have added a lot more detail to everything not just the cars the background has been done to perfection and to top it off this game will be in 3d how is that going to be le me guess awsome this is what we have been waiting for 5 years for and I dont think its going to be a let down if you are into realistic driving games and tuning of cars that is as close as its going to get when it comes to games then this is the game for you oh wait just when you thought this game could not get any better they have gone and put the bbc top gear test track on so now we can see if we cna beat the real times of the stig and they have includued damge I think I should stop now because I can keep on going on and on on the feautres this game has this is a must have for every gear head out there[:

I have a feeling I have waited patiently (as only a casual racing game enthusiast – usually sports and FPS titles exclusively) for the most ground-breaking racing game ever.. And I am stoked! Yeehaa!!…

This is going to be special… Although if, as mentioned above, the in-view of the car shifts as I use playstation eye (I don't) and turn my head on the couch… It is a pity I won't be able to see 'cos I am looking at the wall, lol… Orwhen turning to get a piece of chocolate I am forced to remind myself for the 900th time to keep my head RIGID, lol.. Not sure I get how that one works…

Anyhoo, prep for the best recing game of all-time on the best console of all-time… MINT!!

It certainly looks amazing, but I wonder if the development team have spent as much time making it SOUND as realistic as it looks? One thing that REALLY annoys me about racing games is that the sound of the vehicles seems to be an afterthought to most companies, and they settle for the ‘hairdryer’ approach to nearly every vehicle whether it is a 2 litre Honda Civic or a 5.4 litre V8 Mustang. As a bit of a car nut I confess that I do enjoy the sound of a good V8, or the wail of a race prepped 4, 5, 6, 10, 12 even 16 cylinder motor and it really bugs me that game developers often overlook this. Forza 3 on Xbox360 is a fantastic exception to this though it has to be said, they really do have their petrol heads on and produced a visual, and just as importantly aurally amazing game. Hopefully the GT5 guys have paid as much attention and we get not only a visually mind blowing title, but one with an equally impressive audio impact.

wow this game looks like its going to be good 950+cars and over 75tracks and what makes this game even better polyphonic ditital have joined up with bbc top gear. the stig has already been seen one the trailers and the top gear test track will be included i can not wait for this game it will be fun trying to compare against the real times on top gear that will be fun and this game will take a very long time to get bored of if you are a car inthusiest like me 950 cars to try out and upgrade i cant even emagine how much detail the tunening will have.

From what I've been hearing around the world and on various forums, the next major edition of the Gran Turismo series, Gran Turismo 5, is a major let down. With complaints such as bad AI, graphics issues, jagged shadow looks, few customisation options, poor head tracking and long loading times, one would think that with the numerous delays the game has gone through, it would be a solid game.

I will hire the game to test it and I really hope these aren't as big an issue that people make it out to be. With a first review coming in from a French gaming website giving it only 14/20, it doesn't look too good for the series

When prologue was released I couldnt help think that they were releasing another demo after the GT3 and GT4 efforts.

It seems I was right… Prologue was in fact a glorified demo of the actual game (with a full game price tag). I wasnt going to get it on that principle.

Eventually I relented and paid out for the Prologue version and cant help feeling that Polyphony should reward those people who did by extending a discount (or something similar) to them toward purchase of the actual GT5 game.

All I can say is this best be the most flawless perfect game that has ever been released and some to be worth this ridiculous – ‘it will come out on x, no sorry now its y, no sorry now is z…’ . As you can see I am quickly running out of letters just like I am out of patience for all these dates being thrown out by the developers.

BTW dont think that it will actually come out on November 30th, its only another estimate which as we have all seen will be moved, likely to sometime close to xmas which then will be moved to 2011…

They now say they hope to have it out before december :(
