"Excellent expansion of Grand Theft Auto IV"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game is an excellent addition to the Grand Theft Auto franchise. It combines a wide variety of new weapons and vehicles as well as a great new range of mission types. Both the lost and the damned and the ballad of gay tony have unique new characters each with their own story lines but which all seem to cross over at some point. Both games have terrific realistic graphics as seen in Grand Theft Auto IV, however Episodes of Liberty City has a brand new radio soundtrack which is both brilliant and diverse. This is a great game which I highly reccommend.

"Expansion A+++"
5 stars"

Usually expansion packs to games are not that great. GTA IV did a brilliant job. Whenever an expansion comes out i don't know what to expect. But since GTA IV is already such a mind-blowingly awesome game i had a feeling it would be good and I was right. This expansion makes you want another expansion pack to come out straight away because it makes you re-live and play more stories onto the already awesome game. Having played GTA IV and enjoyed it (I'd give it a 9/10 for general gaming experience, and a 7/10 for story – frankly GTA San Andreus had a more likable set of characters in my opinion) I was not sure what to expect from this expansion pack. Fortunately this is worth every penny (and for those who haven't played GTA IV, it's a stand alone game that doesn't require the original and an excellent intro to the GTA IV game if you haven't played it before). The Lost and The Damned (TLOTD) is a short, fairly basic storyline that concentrates on a gang of bikers and their internal and external conflicts. But the real gem is “The Ballad of Gay Tony” (TBOGT) – a huge game for an expansion pack, and one with lots of variety and great characters and missions. Overall I think I prefer TBOGT to the original story line. It introduces several new mission and activity types including Drug Robberies and Base Jumping (yes the parachute from San Andreas is back).

And for those who HAVE played GTA IV, there are several crossover points where all three storylines in GTA IV overlap. The three stories (GTA IV, TLATD, and TBOGT) all occur in parallel and the main characters from each have cameos in each of the other stories, particularly the diamond theft sub-plot. And you get to see several missions from three different perspectives by playing all three storylines.

This is a great stand-alone expansion pack. I gave it five stars.
