Marlinda is 10 years old and loves her grandmother with whom she shares everything. One sunny spring day, her grandfather calls with the news that her grandmother died. From that moment on, her safe little world collapsed. As if that was not enough, Marlinda also had to deal with a big secret that she can't share with anyone. Marlinda is at a loss as to what to do. She becomes increasingly anxious, gets nightmares and has a hard time accepting the death of her grandmother. But then, she makes a brave decision... Tom van Rossum was born in Rotterdam in 1945. He worked as a social worker from the age of 23 until his retirement in 2010. Inspired by his work and his own childhood, he discovered five years ago that he has a talent for writing stories for children that are modeled after social themes.
