This book is written for those of us who love New England Patriots Football. Those who are not the top fans of the Pats will also want this book, so they can try to get a leg up on the facts missing from the bookshelves of those Patriot fans who do not have this book. The book first tells the story about the great coaches in Boston Patriots and New England Patriots football. It goes way back to the new American Football League (AFL) team from Boston in 1960 and brings us right up to today. Eventually the topic becomes the early NFL, then the AFL, and of course the Boston Patriots first football coach in 1960, Lou Saban. Then of course there are the New England Patriots, and the phenomenal Bill Belichick and the great players such as Tom Brady, which he groomed to be the top players in football today. It seems like yesterday but for those pros trying to create a league out of nothing, there would have been nothing without their hard work. And of course, this great book about the Patriots focuses on the great and soon-to-be-immortal-Patriots' coaches including Lou Saban, Mike Holovak, Chuck Fairbanks, Ray Berry, Bill Parcells, Pete Carroll, and of course the greatest living immortal coach in pro football today, Bill Belichick. The Patriots current coach has topped the list of many pundits from his first year as the Patriot head coach in 2000. This book captures the great coaches in Patriots Football even before the Patriots were the New England Patriots. This Patriots-first book takes the reader through stories about the Patriots 14 coaches to some great stories about the 58 seasons worth of great games (1018 games) with 523 great wins. Author Biography
Brian Kelly retired as an Assistant Professor in the Business Information Technology (BIT) Program at Marywood University, where he also served as the IBM i and Midrange Systems Technical Advisor to the IT Faculty. Kelly designed, developed, and taught many college and professional courses. He continues as a contributing technical editor to a number of technical industry magazines, including "The Four Hundred" and "Four Hundred Guru," published by IT Jungle. Kelly is a former IBM Senior Systems Engineer. His specialty was problem solving for customers as well as implementing advanced operating systems and software on his client's machines. Brian is the author of 153 other books, including 25 Sports Books, and hundreds of magazine articles. He has been a frequent speaker at technical conferences throughout the United States. Brian was a candidate for the US Congress from Pennsylvania in 2010 and he ran for Mayor in his home town in 2015. Kelly loves the Patriots and he became a big fan in the 1960's watching AFL games with his dad on Sundays on the 21" Admiral B/W TV. This is Brian's second "Great Coaches" book about a professional NFL team. Writing about the New England Patriots has been a special treat.
