I remember this from when I was a few years younger and always loved it. The costumes, the settings, the cars, the actors SUPERB. Now its a favourite with my children too. Should be on everyones list to watch. Up there with chitty chitty bang bang and the wizard of oz
We have watched this many times, it features great gags, and a quality script that is rarely seen these days. Our grandkids have watched it many times and get a lot of laughs out of it. Contains the best ever pie fight, and many great one-liners – ‘push the button Max!’
The film features the good in the person of the Great Leslie and the bad in the person of Professor Fate (with his side kick Max). They are constantly trying to out do each other and embark on a car race from the USA to France. Inevitably they run into many mishaps and adventures on the way which opens up opportunities for their rivalry to feature as sight and verbal laughs.
Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon star as archrivals The Great Leslie and Professor Fate in this madcap, round-the-world adventure comedy. The enemies are determined to win a turn-of-the-century automobile race from New York to Paris. Also competing is the beautiful suffragette Maggie Dubois (Natalie Wood). This all-star comedy makes Wacky Races look like a documentary!
