This children's picture book tells the story of how the most popular song in the world began as a little ditty, "Good Morning to All," to greet kindergarten students each day. Sisters Mildred and Patty Hill wrote the music and lyrics and later changed the words to the familiar "Happy Birthday to You."
Nancy Kelly Allen, a former teacher and librarian, fell in love with children's books as a graduate student. The author of Pelican's "Happy Birthday": The Story of the World's Most Popular Song and Daniel Boone: Trailblazer, Allen is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Appalachian Authors Guild, Writers of the North Fork, and Art of the Mountains. She resides with her husband, Larry, and two assistant writers, miniature schnauzers Jazi and Roxi, in Hazard, Kentucky. In addition to teaching art and design, Gary Undercuffler has received numerous awards for his art, including three Illustration of the Month awards and three Illustration of the Year awards from Highlights magazine. Undercuffler lives in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
