Description

A wife imagines her husband's retirement as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Finally they will have time to do all the things they never had time to do before. Things like enjoying exotic vacations, walking along the beach together at sunset, or taking ballroom dancing lessons. Then the day comes, and a familiar voice calls from the door, "Honey, I'm home...forever." Being together twenty-four hours, seven days a week makes most wives of retirees question not only their attitude toward retirement but also their sanity after a few months. This humorous advice guide from a wife who has experienced it all will have heads nodding in agreement from seasoned wives as they caution the soon- to- be wives of retired husbands not to quit their day jobs just yet. AUTHOR: Gwen Rollings celebrates the strength and ingenuity of women in all her writing. She is also the author of a book of poetry, Seasons of a Woman, a memoir of a military family, We Band of Sisters, and one of her poems, "Footsteps at the Door," was included in the book, Chicken Soup for the Military Wife's Soul. She and her husband have been married for forty-five years and have four children and six grandchildren. They all live in Florida. ILLUSTRATOR: Brittany Rollings was a Phi Theta Kappa honor graduate in Art from Central Florida Community College. She also received a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Brittany began her love of drawing at the age of 3, earning honorable mention in a world-wide P.T.O. art contest at the age of 9. She continues in her dual love of drawing and inspiring children to embrace creativity.
