Ok if u love zomibes and teens raging and owning them then this is an anime for you I would put this anime in my top 10 fav anime of all time its that good
I've been reading the manga as well as watching the anime for awhile due to my interest in all things zombie. Overall it is extremely well done with superb animation, a good dose of gore, good semi-original storyline and interesting (although stereotypical) characters; but it does have two main downfalls.
The main one which has stopped many people (but at the same time encouraging others to watch it) is the ‘fan service’ that this anime has. Normally a little bit of fan service is okay but H.O.T.D takes it to a whole new level, not an episode goes by without an up-skirt shot or seeing the female characters underwear.
The second and last downfall is the stereotypical characters and relations. You got the broken couple trying to get back together, the seemingly strong character who is scarred by their past, the carefree and sexy nurse and the annoying know-it-all.
However despite these downfalls the anime is still in my personal Top 10 at #3 and I'm still waiting for season 2 to be announced after watching this for the first time in 2011. If you want more after watching the anime I highly recommend you read the manga as it goes a bit further.
Surviving class has a whole new meaning
A deadly new disease is ravaging the world, turning the populace into mindless zombies, and the number of infected is skyrocketing by the second. As their fellow classmates and teachers succumb to the infection around them, a small group of students at Fujimi High School are fighting for their lives after surviving the initial outbreak.
It is up to Takashi Komuro to unite the group of weary survivors and try to escape the horrors that surround them. In this new world of the living dead…will they escape?
High School of the Dead is by Director Tetsuro Araki (Deathnote, Black Lagoon), animated by studio MADHOUSE and adapted from the highly successful manga of the same name by Daisuke Sato.
