If you have read volume 1 and 2 of Higurashi then go and read this you reaction will be – huh? As you start volume 3 you will notice that everything that happened in the last 2 volumes didn't happen. Characte personalities are still the same and the same basic story about the Cotton Drifting feastival exists just what the horror instore for the characters changes. With that said you do not have had to have read any volume of Higurashi to understand what is going on in this volume. Volume 3 story is that Keiichi goes to the Angel Mart resturaunt and finds out “Mion” is working there. However she claims that she is actually Mion's twin sister “Shion”. Keiichi dosn't believe her and finds himself attracted to “Shion” and “Mion” acting weird. This volume dosn't have a lot of the horror that Higurashi is famous for but it sets the scene for the next volume. If you have watched the anime you will be pleased to know that it features new jokes and is not an exact copy of the anime. Written by Ryukishi07, the man who wrote the original story. and with beautiful art that does the series justice this is a must have for Higurashi and horror-comedy fans!
