Description

Well, here I am... I did a little star gazing in an attempt to separate the mortal and the immortal me, and I did a little star gazing so to understand the world I was thrust into. And after years of staring at the night canvas, I've come to realize that I was born into a world, like you were, already in motion, and to set beliefs, agendas, power struggles, and as a member of the ruled class. Society can be divided into two dominant groups, the rulers and the ruled, and the philosophical expressions within this manuscript attempt to present the deficiencies in the rule of shepherds, and the feelings of those they herd.

Author Biography:

My name is Mike Bhangu, a.k.a., the Thinking Man. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Broadcast Communications Diploma. I am an online publisher, columnist for three publications, City Councillor, part-time actor, and the author of over ten non-fiction books. Through my publications I delve into political philosophy, political practice, history, popular culture, psychology, theology, ancient history, mysticism, and much more. This I did in search of a better world and a better me. The approach I take through my publications isn't traditional and the insight I share is unconventional. In fact, my work unintentionally challenges the status quo. So, let me explain from where I come. Many years ago I was hit with depression and this led me to question existence. Thereafter the popular narrative and the life purposes no longer resonated with my reason-no matter how much energy I invested trying to conform. It's as if every time I attempted to the Universe objected and forced me to question the fashionable. I experienced much inner turmoil and the demon that is depression eyed my soul as if it was loot. The only activity that gifted peace was searching for wisdom and writing. I commenced my quest to understand my place within this world two decades back. My first step was taken inside the academic arena. I studied the great thinkers immortalized by the Western World such as Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Thomas Hobbes, Rene Descartes, Jean-Jacque Rousseau, Karl Marx, John Locke, John Rawls, Niccolo Machiavelli, Rene Descartes, David Hume, Thomas Aquinas, Marcus Aurelius, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Bertrand Russell, Leo Strauss, and so on. From there I travelled to the East, and with my eyes, I listened to the dead such as Laozi, Mencius, and Confucius. Then I pried the great minds engulfed by the fringes of academia such as Madame Blavatsky, Manly P. Hall, Francis Bacon, and St. Germaine. By now I was exhausted. My finances grew wings and fled, my social circle shrunk as cotton does in the dyer, and depression was still hunting my soul. Yet, something inside me yearned for purpose, and amid the immense suffering, I was unable to change direction. So, I tightened the shoelaces, turned my hat to the back, and scrutinized religions. At the feet of The Father I fell and I studied the different holy texts and mystics such as Thoth, Manu, Moses, Guru Nanak, Guru Gobind, Mohammad, Zoroaster, Buddha, and Jesus. The holy texts examined were the Gathas, the Gospels, the Qur'an, the Tablets of Thoth, the Book of the Dead, the Old Testament, the Kabbalah, the Zohar, Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Upanishad, Bhagavat Gita, and a few others. Twenty years of struggle and sacrifice have passed and the by-product is over ten non-fiction manuscripts. These books share my journey of discovery and I publish them to help others who might be bruised up as I was, by the handed-down popular narrative and life purposes that do not resonate with the spirit. On this expedition, not only did I find my place in this chaotic world, I've also uncovered the roots to many problems that plague developed nations and the contemporary person. Accidentally, I fulfilled the duty every human being inherits-to make the world a better place for those yet born. I did this with the power of the pen.
