"Costly Recipes!"
2 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This is a lovely book with lots of good tips and interesting facts about sugar but unfortunately the recipes call for a LOT of nuts. We have no issues with nuts in my family but my daughter's kindy has a nut-free policy (as I'm sure most pre-school places would) and considering I mainly bought the books so I could give her sugar-free lunchboxes, this was a huge disappointment for me. Not to mention that nuts are really expensive. Loads of the recipes also call for other ingredients that are also expensive/difficult to source in NZ.

"Well researched and easy to read!"
4 stars"

Loved this book. Well researched and easy to read. There are some quite easy-to-make changes you can make to your day to day diet if you don't want to go completely sugar free. It made me very aware of how much sugar I was unintentionally eating!

"Well written, and truly inspirational"

Whilst I have not started the 8 week course, I am inspired too. It does not sound as daunting as I thought, and that is because Sarah Wilson is kind to us and explains everything. You are not told what to do, but explained as to why you should do this or that. I feel like I am being spoken to and down to. Amazing, I can't wait to really start the journey.

A well-researched, down to earth and practical guide to giving up sugar!

I love these books, fantastic recipes and really motivating.

"Good back ground on sugar"

A more comprehensive work plan would make the book a 5 star. Lacking in some detail, but overall a good book.

"Nice tasty recipes"

Bought for a diabetic friend with a sweet tooth. The recipes are really nice and from the bits I’ve sampled, don’t make you think “I wish there was a bit of sugar in that”. Recommended to anyone who’s looking to reduce their sugar intake (but not compromise on flavour).

"Good in theory"

I have read “Sweet Poison” by David Gillespie and this book expands on with this following with recipes. I think everyone should decrease their sugar consumption but the recipes in her book did do not appeal to me at all, the ingredients are expensive. It seems to me are replacing sugar with nuts. I did not lose any weight but I did manage to stop the sugar cravings

"the book on how to quit sugar....."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

the tips and tricks in the books are pretty good, with some of 'em being downright sneaky for kids quitting sugar with the adults, but the recipes are really, really good. Breakfast Casserole can easily do lunch and dinner. And the sugar free Nutt-ella is just scrummmmmmy. I bought both books together (save $), and it was well worth the investment. They are stress free, fuss free (can't say that about too many “alternative” cookbooks these days). Kind of grow-your-own approach to cooking. Recommended highly.
