Innovations in Filial Therapy focuses primarily on the application of filial therapy to unique populations and innovative structural/procedural models for providing intensive filial therapy training. Each chapter is a stand-alone step-by-step detailed description of how to utilize filial therapy with the unique population or how to structure innovative intensive models of filial therapy training. Supportive research is included for each topic to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the approach. Research and supportive literature, however, are a secondary focus of the chapter.

Sue C. Bratton, Ph.D., LPC, RPT-S is Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling, Development and Higher Education at the University of North Texas and the Director of the Center for Play Therapy. She is a past President of the Association for Play Therapy.
