This anthology examines the experiences of the search for peaceful settlements with various guerrilla forces, including those in Central America (1986-87), El Salvador (1992), Guatemala (1996), Chiapas (1996), Colombia (1990-91), and the recent attempts in Colombia with the negotiations with the FARC-EP and ELN to end the decades-long armed conflict.

Author Biography

Roberto Regalado (editor) is one of Latin America's principal left-wing commentators, a regular participant in the Sao Paulo Forum, and the author of several books published by Ocean Sur and Ocean Press on the left in Latin America and the wave or "pink tide" of left wing governments in the region.
