Hunter is falling in love at college in New York. The year is 1988; he is a senior majoring in theater arts and, with his newfound romance, life could not be better. Julie is experiencing a mid-life hurdle in her marriage and family in Mentor, Ohio. It is only the renewal of a benevolent friendship that blunts the sharp edge of the unexpected consequences. Fr. Greg strives to be a good Franciscan friar and retreat house director all the while battling a past demon from the Vietnam War. Each have their own history; each is on their own path; each struggles with uncertainty in the present and the future. In a stroke of providence, the three stories converge on a wintry afternoon.
