Mister Roberts is a veritable gem. Humour balances the Captain's maniacal reign, as a real stickler for the rules. Without a scrap of humanity in him. Mister Roberts and the rest of the Crew and Officers, soon put him to rights! Laughed out loud at the scene where the Palm is thrown over the side, and the Captain throws a spectacular wobbly.

The Great Race is also another Jack Lemmon gem. Here, he plays the nefarious Professor Fate, with Peter Falk, as his dimwitted sidekick, Max. Tony Curtis is the hero, with Natalie Wood as the love interest.

Out of these 2 Films, both rate highly.

And will provide a light afternoon's en­tertainment on any grotty weathered-day, outside.

MISTER ROBERTS shows how petty a Ship's Captain can be. When played well by James Cagney, that is. Also, humour is a necessary antidote to stuffed shirts. In this case, a By-the-Book dork with powercraziness. Whom has forgotten as to how to be himself. Jack Lemmon is marvellous as the lead character, ably supported by James Cagney as a Power-crazy Captain.

THE GREAT RACE is a charmer, if ever there was one. Tony Curtis plays a Gentleman; whereas, Jack Lemmon plays a 1st rate cad. Whose schemes all come to nought; each and every time.

Well worth the money to get. Highly recommended !
