Description

Did you ever get the feeling you've NEVER been here before? That's JAMAIS VU! Real people, fictional world! Wim Coleman and Pat Perrin wreaked playful havoc on consensus reality in their groundbreaking novel The Jamais Vu Papers. Readers were left wondering what was real and what was fictional-not just in the book, but in their own lives. At long last, here is a companion volume to that underground classic. Drawing on both The Jamais Vu Papers and the newsletter that inspired it, these "jamais inter-vus" are intriguing conversations between fictional characters and real people. The inter-vus with real-world participants Stewart Brand, Jean Houston, Russell Jacoby, Charles Johnston, Russell Targ, and Robert Theobald have not appeared since they were first published in the jamais vu newsletter (1987-1991). Inter-vus with John Brockman, Mar a De C spedes, Fred Chappell, Daniel C. Dennett, Jamake Highwater, Timothy Leary, and Tom Robbins are from the 1991 novel. Those with Paul Krassner and Fred Alan Wolf (with Llixgrijb) are the expanded versions from the newsletter. About half of the material in Jamais Vu Views has not been seen since 1987-1991. If you are already a fan of The Jamais Vu Papers, you'll be delighted by what you have jamais (never) seen before. And if you have jamais (never) experienced the reality-bending phenomenon known as The Jamais Vu Papers, this collection is a great place to start.

Author Biography

Wim Coleman and Pat Perrin have collaborated on their writing for about 25 years and stayed happily married all that time. For 13 years they lived in the beautiful Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende, where they created and managed a scholarship program for at-risk students under the auspices of San Miguel PEN. Their most recent novel, Mayan Interface, draws on Mexican myth and tradition. Wim and Pat are co-authors of The Jamais Vu Papers, an eccentric novel that has maintained a following for over two decades and has won awards for visionary fiction. They also wrote the popular thriller Terminal Games, and their articles and essays appear in collections about creativity and storytelling. Their highly-praised books for young readers include award-winning historical fiction, two fantasy series, books of plays, and a "nonfiction" book about unicorns. More at www.playsonideas.com/
